What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register on our site if you are:
Purchasing LCU Online® Learning Center courses, regardless of any other relationship you may or may not have with LCU.
An officially enrolled LCU student (or were sometime in the past).
An LCU alumnus.
An official involved in the operation of an LCU extension campus, such as a host pastor, campus director, or administrator.
An LCU faculty member.
An LCU Main Campus staff member
A member of the LCU Partners Club
When registering on our site, you will be asked to enter:
Your full name
Your LCU ID#, but this is only needed if you are a member of one or more of the groups listed in #2-#7 above.
A unique user name
A valid email address
A password that meets our construction standards
NOTE: For your account to become fully operational, we validate your email address by sending a message to that address which you must then reply to using the simple instructions provided.
When purchasing from our site(s), you will also be asked to enter:
Your credit card information
If your purchase requires us to ship you something, you will be asked to enter:
Your mailing or shipping address
Your phone number
What do we use your information for?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
To personalize your experience. Your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs.
To process transactions. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
To send occasional emails. The email address you provide for order processing, will only be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your relationship to LCU. You will not be constantly spammed to buy anything or make donations by LCU or any other associated organization or body.
How do we protect your information?
We use a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via industry-standard encypted Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology.
Your password is encrypted in our database and cannot be read or decrypted by any of our personnel at any time.
The remainder of your information can only be accessed by those authorized with special access rights to our systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.
We do not store your credit card number or security code on any of our servers or workstations at any time.
For credit card transactions, we do store the:
Item or course purchased
Purchase date
Amount charged
Cardholder's name
Last four digits of the credit card number
Card's expiration date
Approval code issued by the credit card authorization gateway
Internet IP address of the computer from which the purchase was made
Do we use cookies?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.
We do NOT store your personal or credit card information in cookies nor do we allow/use third-parties to implant cookies on your system to track your Internet usage or target you for their advertising.
LCU's use of cookies is strictly limited to providing the most secure usage of its websites for its user community. All cookies are erased once you have logged out of our secure websites.
Accordingly, for you to use our secure websites, your browser preferences must be set to allow the use of cookies, but cookies for third-parties and advertisers can be safely turned off with no loss of functionality.
Do we track your Internet browsing?
No. Never. Period.
We do, however, anonymously track page views and other statistical information for our own websites so that we can manage our hosting and marketing resources more effectively.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information, ever, period.
This limitation does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website(s), conducting our business, or serving you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others' rights, property, or safety.

COPPA Compliance
We are in compliance with the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 17 years old or older.
Accounts, User Names & Access Privileges
Only one LCU Online® account per person is permitted.
Each user is must select a unique user name containing any combination of upper- and/or lower-case and/or numeric characters — excluding spaces and all punctuation characters — and can be any length between 8 and 40 characters.
All user names are permanent and may not be altered or replaced at any time for any reason.
LCU reserves the right to permanently and irrevocably ban any user who violates his/her Christian witness by selecting a user name containing profane, obscene, racist, sexist, ungodly, heretical, or otherwise abusive/demeaning/inappropriate language, demonstrates nefarious and/or criminal intent, and/or abuses the privileges granted through access to LCU Online®.
Determination of whether a violation of the letter and/or spirit of this rule has taken place is at LCU's sole discretion.
